Sunsets and Stilettos

I have been watching a lot of people around me struggle as of late. And as I watch, I see commonalities. The one that thing that stands out beyond anything else is that they are ALL worried about what other people think of them. ​

I wish I could give them my ability not to care in a bottle so they could drink it. I don’t know why but I have never really been concerned about what other people think of me. I’ve been so comfortable with people not liking me- and me not being for everyone. That said- blogging has made that harder. No one wants to be the least respected person on the internet- and with that- I’ve had moments where I’ve worried. ​Just this week I reached out to a few people for a giveaway I have coming up- they blatantly ignored me. They didn’t say “No thanks,” they didn’t explain they were otherwise engaged- it was just not even worth a response. I could easily spiral into wondering why they felt that was ok… “they must think I don’t get enough likes on my pictures… maybe they think I’m not successful…”  But them not responding says more about them than me- and so we march on. (hoping someday for a Pretty Woman moment- “BIG mistake.”) 

At the end of the day- if we know we are doing our best to be the best version of ourselves- EVERYONE ELSE’S OPINION DOES NOT MATTER. 

It just made me wonder how many of us are making decisions and worrying about other people’s thoughts, views and opinions of us. 

“What you think of me is none of my business.” 

This week- try to monitor your thoughts to see how many things YOU are worried about when it comes to you instead of what everyone else is worrying about when it comes to you. Getting to that place will bring confidence and confidence often will help those naysayers come around.
